Microculture morphology of mycobacteria.

چکیده
Morphology continues to be indispensable for primary isolation and recognition of bacteria. Under controlled conditions of growth, microscopic and gross characteristics of most bacterial species are constant, replicable, and have high differential values. This report is concerned with microculture morphology of Mycobacterium 13 mm) was then placed over each planted area. The plates were incubated in Mylar plastic bags at 37 C. At 24-hr intervals for 6 days, a cover glass was removed, inverted, and sealed with a nonfluorescent mounting medium to a standard microslide. After heat fixation, slides were stained in phenol-auramine and quenched in 10%

Microculture in biphasic medium with silicone-coated slides for isolation of mycobacteria.
The study reported here, seeking to develop a simple, practical, sensitive, and inexpensive technique for microbial diagnosis of tuberculosis, used a combination of biphasic media and microculture techniques to augment the sensitivity of traditional culture methods. A total of 540 sputum samples (5 mL each) were obtained from 180 patients with suspected tuberculosis in Mexico City. These sample...

Bacteriol. 84:815-818. 1962.-Smooth colonies of mycobacteria were obtained from previously rough strains after exposure to phages R(1) and D-32 in a higher frequency than could be expected from selection of mutants alone. متن کاملA Review on Environmental Mycobacteria in Iran
Abstract Mycobacterium genus, including pathogenic and environmental species, is called non-tuberculosis mycobacteria. In this review, we assessed the research about the frequency of non-tuberculosis mycobacteria in Iran. The analyses showed that there are 16 and 28 mycobacterial species isolated in water and soil samples, respectively. The most frequent mycobacterial species in water were M. f...
متن کاملThe Comparison of Biochemical and Sequencing 16S rDNA Gene Methods to Identify Nontuberculous Mycobacteria
The identification of Mycobacteria in the species level has great medical importance. Biochemical tests are laborious and time-consuming, so new techniques could be used to identify the species. This research aimed to the comparison of biochemical and sequencing 16S rDNA gene methods to identify nontuberculous Mycobacteria in patients suspected to tuberculosis in Golestan province which is the ...
متن کاملThe role of nontuberculous mycobacteria in cutaneous infections of diabetic patients: a literature review
Background: Diabetes is an important metabolic disease with myriad manifestations and complications, affecting many people. Cutaneous infections impact numerous diabetic patients. Among different bacterial infections in diabetic patients, the infections caused by mycobacteria other than Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MOTT) eventuate in complications owing to the paucity of accurate detection...
